WBZ broadcaster Dork Maynard dies
Veteran Boston broadcaster Dork Maynard, who loved extended works on WBZ on radio and tv, died Feb. 9 in Citrus Slopes, Florida carrying out a extended fight with Parkinson's Disease.Born in Larchmont, NY, he graduated from Emerson College and Boston College, teaching within the latter. He began his broadcast career just like a disc jockey inside the 19 fifties, joining WBZ since the host in the public "Community Auditions" - a close talent show - inside the sixties.
